ORONDO — Stop in at Orondo Cider Works and you’ll find more than cider. There’s apple cider donuts made fresh each morning, espresso made from Pura Vida coffee, jams, jellies, apples, vegetables in season, bird houses, state souvenirs and Washington State University Cougar Gold cheese. This fall, there will be pumpkin donuts and there’s convenience items, including milk, frozen pizza and Hispanic foods, including Ranchero cheese, tortillas, Jarritos soft drinks, salsa, Mexican vanilla extract, Mexican cookies and tostadas.

Goodfruit Grower - Nov. 2003

Orchardist Chuck Podlich is out of the house before 6 a.m. , just as he always was. But his first job these days is to make doughnuts. Dozens and dozens of them. He heads up the hill to the corner of his orchard off Highway 97 at Orondo , Washington , where last year there were Fuji and Gala trees. He opens up his new Cider Works and store, and cranks up the doughnut machine.

Wenatchee World - Sept. 2003

ORONDO -- The Podlich family of Orondo is pressing on. Having weathered some tough times in the orchard industry, Priscilla Podlich and her son, Chuck, and his wife, Sharon Podlich, and their four daughters opened Orondo Cider Works. Located on Highway 97, this cider house is big and bright red like many of the tree-ripe apples the family will be pressing.
