What is wassailing? Wassailing means Good Health and comes to us as an English tradition that pre-dates Christianity. Like many traditions it was a little different in each region as well as evolved over the years. Generally, observed on Epiphany - the 12th day of Christmas, activities included singing, going door to door, feasting, blessing and drinking wassail! Our wassailing traditions include a procession into the orchard, singing, blessing the trees, scaring away the evil spirits and inviting the good spirits to reside and bless us with a good crop. Then we finish off the evening with a bonfire of obsolete Christmas trees,(call Chuck to donate a tree 509-679-1480) some good food and fellowship. We hope you will join us.
